My first Mobile Blog post

Just discovered how to do blog posts from my phone – Nokia E71! Really quite amazing, I can write a blog post in seconds, cool or what. Wow! Technology has changed from back in the day when computers used to fill the space of a whole room and now we have these little gadgets that can do everything, from checking your email in 2 seconds or just Facebookin’ it out. Now, I can do blog posts regularly – thats only if I have time in my busy, busy day – which I’m sure you all will enjoy! I’m still trying to figure out how to put images up, but I’m sure I’ll find out. Yeah, so to sum up: I’m Mobile blogging – Awesome!

Sahil Saeed Kidnap

Sahil Saeed

Kidnapped 5 year old Sahil Saeed

I had to write a post about this, it makes me so angry. Well, this is about the British five-year old boy Sahil Saeed who recently got kidnapped in Pakistan by armed robbers after visiting relatives with his father. The attackers are said to have demanded £100,000 ransom for his return.

Pakistani prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has urged the police out there to increase efforts to find the boy.

The boys mother said their family has “been praying all day and all night” for his release. The British High Commission in Islamabad, has said it is “continually monitoring the situation”. Inshallah the boy will be found. All I can say is keep praying. Read more…

The Baftas 2010

Baftas 2010

Baftas 2010

Yes, the Baftas are finally here. The award show will commence tomorrow and what a night it’ll be, with so many brilliant, talented actors, directors and film makers under one roof. The show will take place in the Royal Opera House, London. Avatar, An Education and The Hurt Locker leading the pack with a whopping 8 nominations each and District 9 just behind with 7, the night is said to be jam packed!

Right, let me tell you a few of the nominees. So, up for Best Film are Avatar (of course), An Education, The Hurt Locker, Precious: Based on the novel Push by Sapphire and Up in the Air. I so want Avatar to win that one! Nominees for Best Director are: James Cameron – Avatar, Neill Blomkamp – District 9, Lone Scherfig – An Education, Kathryn Bigelow – The Hurt Locker and Quentin Tarantino – Inglourious Basterds – and again I think James Cameron should win that one! The Brit Awards 2010

The Brit Awards 2010

Are you excited? Well I am.

The show starts in a few minutes, eeeeeeeek! The stars have started flooding into London’s Earls Court for this year’s Brit Awards. What the hell is Lady Gaga wearing – the usual weird, crazy stuff I gather. I’m totally looking forward to the performances by the different artists, such as Cheryl Cole, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. The show is going to be hosted by a top comedian – Peter Kay, so it is expected to be FUNNY!

Robbie Williams is said to be receiving the honorary award for his outstanding contribution to music and also he is expected to be giving the final performance of the show – which should be awesome! He’s also one of the nominees in the best male category alongside Paolo Nutini, Calvin Harris, Mika and Dizzee Rascal. For the best female, there is Pixie Lott, Lily Allen, Florence Welch (from Florence and the Machine), Leona Lewis and Bat for Lashes. Lily Allen is the bookies favourite to win! Read more…

Windows Phone 7

Windows Phone 7

With it being the most talked about thing on Twitter, I thought I’d write a post about it.

So Microsoft have launched their latest version of its Mobile phone operating system – Windows Phone 7 series. It’s meant to be really good, as you would expect. It includes many Microsoft services for instance Xbox LIVE games, Live Gallery. Their still not at the top of the global market but they came fourth, behind Symbian (That’s my mobile operating system – Nokia E71, Oh yeah!), Blackberry and the Apple iPhone OS.

Recently, Microsoft introduced their 6.5 series – which you may have heard of back in October. Damn, they made this new series quite quick, how long has it been… like 5 months. Microsoft guys hats off to you! Read more…

Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day

Yes. Today is the 14th of February AKA Valentine’s Day!

But do you actually know why Valentine’s Day was invented? Well, let me tell you! They have been various stories on where Valentine’s Day originated from. Let me give you a few. Now you’ve probably heard of Saint Valentine, but do you know who he really is? Well, they are a few saints that go by the name of Valentine – which are all associated with the 14th of February. Valentine was said to be martyred (someone who suffers on behalf of their faith). But it is said just before his beheading Valentine wrote a letter to his beloved which was signed saying: “From your Valentine” – How romantic!  And there is another story about Claudius, but I prefer this one. Avatar = AWESOME

Jake and Neytiri

Jake and Neytiri

Well, I went to watch it yesterday. Yeah I know it’s been out for a while, but yesterday I finally got a chance to see it. The movie is awesome especially in 3D, no wonder it won so many awards.

Watching the trailer earlier, I thought it was just going to be about blue aliens (Ha, stupid I know). But it had a very interesting story behind it. Let me give you a brief synopsis – So a planet is found given the name Pandora which consists of the most beautiful plants and kind of weird creatures. The humans try to invade the planet for themselves and this is where the main character comes in – Jake Sully, an injured ex-marine who takes on what his brother used to do before he died, by becoming an avatar and exploring this new planet. During this process he falls in love with Neytiri – the Na’vi princess on Pandora. He tries to stop the invasion as he begins to love the planet and the Na’vi’s (the blue things that live on the planet in simple terms). Read more…

Addicted to the Internet?

Addicted to the Internet?

Addicted to the Internet?

Now this is a topic that really interested me. I was watching the news recently and there have been some studies on links between the internet and depression. The University of Leeds have conducted online questionnaires and the results of these showed that there is a strong link between constantly going on the internet, so being an Internet addict and depression or other mental disorders. It has been said that most people spend their time on the internet, like on social networking sites (Facebook etc.), sex and gambling websites as opposed to going out and meeting REAL people. WEBSITE MAKEOVER

I’ve finally taken some time out and tried to sort out my website. Its taken sometime but its finally got there. The old theme was pretty simple which I liked, not too complex so this is why I’ve gone for this theme too – a change was needed! I’ve decided that Blue is the main colour, which is incorporated into my logo, which I just love. I think this logo is spectacular, wouldn’t you agree? Revolutionary blogging… Totally.

By the way, I’ve redone my profile page, click my profile on the right to explore.

Below is a video, it is kind of a movie trailer for my website hope you enjoy it. I think it looks really good. Do comment and tell me your views on this MAKEOVER.
